Showtown in Blackpool is the UK’s first museum of popular entertainment, celebrating the rich history of seaside fun, circus performance, magic, glitz and glamour. It opened in 2024. We were commissioned to create the Showtown Celebration Exhibition, shining the spotlight on everyone who helped make Showtown. 

Our design was about celebrating the people, the projects and the passion that created Showtown. We maximised the colourful brand identity, creating an exhibition design language embodying the Showtown spirit. The gallery itself was the venue for numerous events and gatherings in the opening weeks, meaning the exhibition had to hug the perimeter walls. The exhibition centrepiece was a new short film, honouring the full range of activities and projects that took place over the ten years Showtown was being developed.
